GSA Promotes Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses

GSA has a long history of supporting Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs). Our Governmentwide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs) are one example of our continued promotion and support of veteran communities. Customers from across the federal government have used the VETS 2 GWAC to access a wide variety of IT services while they also receive SDVOSB credit toward their Small Business Procurement Scorecard and Best-in-Class (BIC) Tier 3 credit toward spend under management (SUM) goals.

In just three and a half years, VETS 2 has more than $1.68 billion total estimated value from 122 task-order awards. VETS 2 provides access to 68 highly qualified companies capable of completing virtually any IT-service requirement, including agile software development, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and other emerging technologies.

Get more information about VETS 2 and training opportunities on the VETS 2 page.

If you have questions regarding VETS 2, please contact us at vets2@gsa.gov.

A Pool of SDVOSB Companies is Available via the Polaris GWAC

GSA is pleased to announce our continued support of Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) companies by including a contract pool for SDVOSB firms on Polaris. Polaris is GSA’s new next-generation Governmentwide Acquisition Contract (GWAC). Polaris will bring innovation to the small-business community, federal agencies, and the acquisition workforce, leading to:
  • Substantial benefits to small businesses
  • Improved technology for federal agencies
  • Greater flexibility for acquisition professionals across government
Initial priorities on Polaris will be the creation of pools to accommodate set-asides for Small Business (SB), Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB), and SDVOSB companies, as well as businesses located in HUBZones, to help deliver on their mission and meet their socioeconomic goals.

To learn about the contract and training opportunities, visit the Polaris page.

If you have questions about the Polaris GWAC, please reach out to us at polaris@gsa.gov.

Excess Property Can Help Veteran-Owned Small Businesses

When your agency has excess personal property, you must report it to GSA for potential reuse by the government or donation to eligible recipients through the Federal Surplus Personal Property Donation Program. One new type of eligible recipient is Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSBs). Through a partnership between GSA, the Small Business Administration, and the states, VOSBs can acquire surplus property needed to support and grow their businesses. One recent example involved a well-used Kiowa helicopter.

Does your agency have property it no longer needs? Report that property to GSA to ensure taxpayer-funded assets can be reused to benefit the public in communities across the country.

Visit the Personal Property for Reuse and Sale page for more information on GSA’s personal property management offerings. VOSBs can contact their State Agency for Surplus Property for information on how to participate.

GSA Global Supply® Offers Items from Veteran-Owned Small Businesses

GSA Global Supply offers supplies and equipment to all military and civilian customers worldwide. Some of these items are provided by Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. This includes everything from office supplies, including toner cartridges, to food-service items.

The GSA Global Supply requisition channel is a Best-in-Class (BIC) solution, per OMB. It’s a requisition-based option that provides easy access to common-use items such as office supplies, tools, and industrial products. It leverages the government’s buying power while saving your agency time and money because GSA has completed the procurement process and satisfied Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and socioeconomic requirements.

Our varied ordering options include:
Payment can be made via DOD Activity Address Code (DoDAAC), civilian Activity Address Code (AAC), or Government Purchase Card (GPC).

Update Your Medical Facility with GSA Healthcare Furniture NSNs

Hospitals and clinics can quickly update waiting rooms and patient rooms with GSA’s National Stock Numbers (NSNs) for healthcare furniture. Overbed tables, exam stools, waiting-room seating, recliners, sleepers, and more are available for quick delivery in 90 days or less.

No contract is needed! You simply order with a purchase card or your Activity Address Code (AAC/DoDAAC). For many buyers, purchase cards are a convenient and preferred way to pay. However, when your order exceeds $10,000, you may wonder whether you still have options to purchase via healthcare furniture NSNs. Yes, you do – simply follow the easy AAC/DoDAAC ordering procedures and submit your approved order.

GSA’s contracted supplier for this furniture is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), and the products meet the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) minimum technical requirements for durability and sustainability.

To learn more, visit the Healthcare Furniture NSNs page or email us at furniture@gsa.gov.
